Proofreading & Editing

I only proofread and edit German texts. Although I am quite familiar with English, French and Polish I don't have the sure feeling for the nuances of language that only a native speaker can have. From personal experience I am aware of how important the unbiased view of an outside person on a text is – especially prior to printing it! Not before the whole body text has optical clarity, and is consistent and grammatically right, a printing company can be authorized with a good feeling. A careful proofreading – in special cases you might wish a wide-ranging editing – aims at giving the reader the possibility to concentrate on what really matters.

I was working for cultural associations, theatres and editorial offices, and also for people willing to publish their own texts. What's more, I support persons who wish to rework their website or to promote their new project. Is there anything you need assistance for?

You have conducted this wonderful interview and need someone to turn it into written letters? You plan to record your upcoming event and know already that you won't find the time to typewrite everything? I transcribe your audio file fast and authenticly.

Prices

If you wish your message to be transmitted without grammatical and typing errors, please send me an email with a short description of your needs. I will submit an offer based on calculations adjusted to your personal text or project. In general, the height of my professional fee depends on the effort.

Editing/Proofreading – if you wish to make use of my competence, first you need to know the number of characters (blanks included!) of your text. Divide this number by 1,800. What you get is the quantity of standard pages, which I will invoice. Second you should have a roughly idea of what you want me to do. A simple correction or a larger refinement of your text? If you don't really know, describe in your own words what you have in mind. Third the fee will be higher in the case of subject-specific vocabulary.

A simple editing for example will cost between 5.50 € und 7.50 € per standard page (plus 19 % VAT). It contains the proofreading (grammatical correctness, orthography) as well as a rough regard on coherence, intonation and syntax.

The pure proofreading (correction) will usually cost between 4.50 € and 5.50 € per standard page (plus 19 % VAT). Also in this case I need to take a quick look on your text to calculate the costs.

Transcription – the price depends on the running time of your audio file and the recording quality. My standard fee is 5.00 € (plus 19 % VAT) per minute recorded. The poorer the acoustic quality and the higher the number of recorded voices – the more expensive the transcription.

The minimum price of my work is 50.00 € (plus 19 % VAT).
